ROCKERY & GARDEN BOULDERS

How to Choose Rockery Stones & Garden Boulders

Rockery stones are a versatile way to introduce natural texture, height and structure into a garden. They can be used to create traditional rockeries, alpine gardens, raised planting areas, borders and decorative landscape features. When building a rockery, choose a well-drained location and position the largest stones first before adding smaller pieces and planting soil around them. Alpine plants, succulents and low-growing perennials can then be planted between the stones to create a natural, established appearance.

Our range includes several natural stone options. Limestone rockery stone offers soft, light grey tones that work particularly well in traditional, cottage and contemporary gardens. Green granite rockery stone combines durability with subtle green and grey colouring, while golden granite rockery stone introduces warmer golden and buff tones to planting schemes and garden features.

Decorative Garden Boulders

Decorative boulders can be used as individual focal points or incorporated into larger landscaping schemes. Natural glacial boulders feature varied tones of grey, pink, beige and white, with each stone having its own individual shape, colour and texture.

Garden boulders work particularly well within planting beds, lawns, rockeries, pond surrounds and larger landscape designs. Different sizes can be combined to create a more natural appearance, with larger boulders positioned first and smaller stones used around them.

We offer smaller decorative boulders approximately 100–300mm in size, alongside larger garden boulders approximately 400–1000mm. For boulders larger than 1000mm, please contact us for availability and pricing.

Natural Boulder Seating

Our natural flat-top boulder seats and sawn boulder seats combine natural stone with practical outdoor seating. Flat-top boulder seats retain more of the stone's natural form, making them well suited to informal and naturalistic gardens.

Sawn boulder seats have a flatter, more refined seating surface and work particularly well within contemporary landscaping schemes. Both styles can be incorporated into rock gardens, seating areas, fire-pit surrounds and larger outdoor spaces.

Delivery & Care

Our rockery stone and smaller decorative boulders are generally supplied in approximately 850kg crates, while larger individual boulders are supplied on pallets.

Natural stone requires very little maintenance. Occasional rinsing can help remove surface dirt, while keeping the surrounding area free from weeds will help maintain the appearance of the finished landscape.

Complete Your Pond or Waterscape

For landscaping around ponds and water features, explore our pond cobbles & boulders and pond edging stones. These natural stones are ideal for pond borders, waterfalls and waterside planting schemes, helping create a more natural transition between water and the surrounding garden.
