Choosing Walling Stone

Different stone types create very different finishes. Slate walling stone provides a layered, textured appearance, while limestone walling stone offers lighter natural tones suited to traditional and rustic garden designs. Cobble and boulder walling stone can be used to create more informal, characterful walls and landscape features.

Dry Stone Walls & Garden Walls

Walling stone can be used for dry stone walls, garden boundaries, raised beds, retaining features and decorative landscaping.

Traditional dry stone walls are constructed by carefully selecting and positioning stones without mortar, while other garden walls may use mortar depending on the design and intended structure.

For structural or retaining walls, we recommend using a suitably experienced landscaper or contractor to ensure the wall, foundations and drainage are appropriate for the site.

Delivery & Quantities

Our walling stone is generally supplied in approximately 850kg bulk bags or crates, depending on the product. Larger quantities may also be available for bigger landscaping projects.

The amount required will depend on the dimensions of the wall, stone type and construction method, so calculate the approximate wall length, height and depth before ordering.
